Pred koncertom na Level up seriji; Limun Up, smo se pogovarjali z WIllemom Smitov, pevcem in kitaristom nizozemske indie rock skupine Canshaker Pi!
Prihajate v Slovenijo prvič?
Ja.
Mogoče jih bom imel, ko bom v klubu … Vedno je bilo zabavno in hkrati strašljivo igrati pred ljudmi, pred katerimi sploh še nisi igral. Ljudje se vedno drugače odzovejo na koncert. Zame je posebno že, če ljudje pridejo in lahko igramo pred njimi.
Maja ste izdali novo plato.
Original:
Are you coming to Slovenia for the first time?
Yes. None of us have ever been to Slovenia and we’re pretty excited to see what it’s like. Our friend Koen Ter Heegde from Subroutine Records hooked us up with this show.
How are you expecting an unknown audience to accept you?
I don’t have expectations! I might have some when I’m at the club… It’s always fun and scary to play in front of people you’ve never played before. It’s always different how an audience responds to your show. To me it’s already special enough if people show up and we can play our show.
You’ve released album in May. Can you share something about this experience?
We had recorded a little over 20 tracks over the course of a year in several places with several people. We had been playing a bunch of the same songs constantly for over a year and we felt like we wanted to move on material-wise. It felt weird to just throw a large chunk of the songs we were really proud of away, so we decided we should just make a record out of them. We kind of shaped it into a fast-paced pop/rock collage and called it Naughty Naughty Violence, haha. There’s a lot going on and I like it!
What is the story behind it?
There’s no main concept or story. It’s a bunch of songs we liked.
Standard question, if you could play with anyone live (dead or alive), who would that be?
I’ve never had this question in an interview. I like these kinds of questions.
Either early Pixies or Teenage Cool Kids.
Any message for Radio Terminal?
Thanks for interviewing us! Come to our show!
